Samsung Announces New and Enhanced Quality Assurance Measures to Improve Product Safety.

Following the Note7 incidents, Samsung has developed strict quality assurance protocols across its entire development process in an effort to renew its commitment to safety. The new and enhanced safety measures are as follows:

  • Samsung’s enhanced 8-Point Battery Safety Check addresses safety from the component level to the assembly and shipment of devices. Included in the check are enhanced tests (Durability Test, Visual Inspection, X-Ray Test, Disassembling Test and △OCT Test), as well as newly applied measures (Charge and Discharge Test, TVOC Test and Accelerated Usage Test).
  • Samsung’s enhanced multi-layer safety measures protocol will implement strict safety standards on every element of the company’s devices including the overall design and materials used, device hardware strength and capabilities, and improved software algorithms for safer battery charging temperature, current and duration.
  • Samsung formed a battery advisory group of external advisers made up of academic and research experts to ensure the company maintains a clear and objective perspective on battery safety and innovation. Members include Clare Grey, Ph.D., Professor of Chemistry, University of Cambridge; Gerbrand Ceder, Ph.D., Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, UC Berkeley; Yi Cui, Ph.D., Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, Stanford University; and Toru Amazutsumi, Ph.D., CEO, Amaz Techno-consultant.

Samsung hopes that this case will serve as an opportunity to improve the safety of lithium-ion batteries not only for the company but for the entire industry, and will actively share the lessons learned to contribute toward improved safety standards.

MWC 2017: NOKIA sends out invitation for February 26 press conference. Nokia 8 coming.

We just found the above pic with google on a CNET spanish site and apparently is an official invitation of Nokia to the press conference at MWC 2017 in February 26th, but the time and some information about of the location have been covered on with black color.

Rumors are saying Nokia will unveil a big phone called the Nokia 8 (not P1)  that will come with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen, a 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 or 835 processor with either 4 or 6GB RAM. There should also be either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, a 23MP rear camera and a  12MP front-facing camera and dual front-facing speakers.

MWC 2017: LG sends out invitations for the unveiling of new smartphones.

LG Electronics (LGE) has sent out invitations  to journalists around the world for the  releases of its new smartphone products. 

LG Electronics will launch a new smartphone launch event at Barcelona, ​​Spain, on February 26 at 12:00 local time. On the 26th, the day before the opening of the MWC 2017 exhibition.

According to leaked screen protectors there will not be a Samsung Galaxy S8 flat version

As we said on our before post Both Samsung Galaxy S8/S8Plus might have sided curved edges but one is bigger. there will not be a flat version of the Galaxy S8 and according to @dfordesign tweet from Poland

@dfordesign made it clear after that tweet that are not SGS8 displays but screen protectors as he tweeted around 53 minutes ago:

  1. Regarding photos - these are screen protectors, not parts of the device. Just giving a glimpse of how the front panel might look like.
  2. W tym lepiej widać zagięcie. Lekkie zaokrąglenie jest też na gorze i u dolu

  3. The Galaxy S8 is rumored for an official announcement on March 29 with a release following in April.

MWC 2017: SONY sends out invitations for press conference.

SONY has sent out invitations for its press conference at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona, Spain for Monday February 27th, 08:30 CET , doors open 08:15 CET.

The invitation is for to see SONY`s latest innovations that will be unveiled in the event. SONY  usually presents new Xperia smartphones models at MWC or at IFA Berlin instead.

Is not confirmed what SONY will exactly unveil at the event since the company has been very silent about the devices that will present.

SONY will live stream the press conference on Sony Mobile’s official site.
